The tiny crosswords book is -as usual- made with photoshop, printed, cut, and glued. That happens when you're not a pro photographer. But the photos looks strangely flat compared to the real painted mini. I took reasonable care of the blends and whatnot, and I'm quite happy with the result. I went for the Zero Year version since #1 the sculpt is really great and matches perfectly one of the comic's panels, and #2 I already painted the other version (it was the very 1st Batman mini I painted, a resin prototype that I gave to a friend later on). There are two versions in the box, one from the Batman Zero Year comic arc, the other more traditional. Anyway, both are very different, and this one was sung by Martin Gore, the other by Dave Gahan.įollowing the Riddler's goons, I was really impatient to paint the main villain himself. It's strange that they has 2 titles beginning with "A question of." on the same album. I cut off holes on the wings to be closer to the comics' art (actually, you only see this version of Firefly in one single panel of one single Batman Eternal issue) and did a couple trompe-l'oeils to add a bit more structure to the wings.Īnother fairly famous song from Depeche Mode's "Black celebration" album. Probably one of the most enjoyable since I started painting the game.įirefly was more straightforward and easy, it only took a bit long due to blends and whatnot. The mini happened to be a real pleasure to paint. But its New52 version is cool (like most of the Batman GCC minis, it's the version from the New52 period). They're used as main villains in the same scenario, which I can now play fully painted! "Fire" is the 1st song of the album.Ĭontinuing Batman, with Killer Moth and Firefly. The songs were very effective, yet simple (like, 4 chords-ish). IIRC I bought the vinyl (must still be at my mother's home), then a few years later when CD became more widespread, I found a CD version. I don't know how many they sold in France. Once upon a time, there was a US rock band called "The Front". I cut off parts of 2 nets, glued them on the guns' tips et voilà.Īdded bonus is that the nets proved to be long and tedious to paint, doing 4 would have been a chore. At this point I knew how the net-guns looked like without nets, before firing, and the colors used on the dudes. A pretty good one actually, with 0 text, only images. It happened to be in a story from Batman Eternal that I had never read. My 2nd issue was to find the comic book reference/concept. But after some testing I figured that 2 minis with net could fit. My 1st issue was that if you glue the nets, it's pretty hard to put back the 4 dudes in the plastic tray. I never used the net in-game, because it has to be glued on the mini and I didn't want to do it before painting. The dudes hereunder allow me to play the 2nd scenario fully painted. I might have already mentioned that he's one of my favorite artists.īatman dudes still. Which pack best suits your crews?
